The Grande Cache Search and Rescue team is made up of trained volunteers. Recipients of their service have commented on their professionalism and their exceptional qualifications.

Due to the terrain, Grande Cache SAR have had to assist those in distress in very hazardous conditions. In the winter of 2002 there was an accident in which a truck went over a steep mountain cliff. The rescue team had to traverse the steep incline to assist in the rescue of the injured men using ropes and pulleys. The Search and Rescue team excel because of their willingness to go where necessary in the rugged Rockies.
